Shrtr

Terms of use

Last updated: 7 June 2026. These terms govern your use of Shrtr. By creating a link or an account, you agree to them. Questions: support@shrtr.top.

1. Who provides the service

Shrtr ("Shrtr", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Aliaksandr Palazok ("the Provider"), an individual operating from the Republic of Poland. Contact: support@shrtr.top. The Provider's full address is held with Polish tax and consumer-protection authorities and is available on request to the contact address above.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the email address you provided is one you control. If you use Shrtr on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

3. Account & security

An account is optional — anonymous link creation needs none. If you have one, you are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. Note that a short code is itself the only key to a link's public stats page and destination, so treat codes you don't want public with care. Sign-in is by a one-time emailed link (with an optional password); setting, changing, or removing a password invalidates any outstanding sign-in links. Tell us at support@shrtr.top if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Subscriptions, billing & refunds

Shrtr offers a Free plan and paid monthly tiers (Pro, Business) with the features and prices listed on /pricing.

  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel them from your account.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe under its Managed Payments (merchant-of-record) arrangement: Stripe is the seller of record and calculates, collects, and remits the applicable VAT/sales tax for your jurisdiction, shown at checkout. We never store full card numbers — only the Stripe identifiers needed to reconcile your plan.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; we do not pro-rate or refund partial months. Your account then reverts to the Free tier and your links keep working within Free limits.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe retries automatically; the subscription enters a past due state and paid features may be limited until payment succeeds. After Stripe's retry window the subscription is cancelled and the account reverts to Free.
  • Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected. Where the EU 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services applies, you consent at checkout to immediate provision of the service and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been supplied.

5. Acceptable use

Use Shrtr only for links you are entitled to create and share. You agree NOT to shorten or distribute URLs for:

  • spam, malware, phishing, or content that is illegal where you or your audience are located;
  • links that point back to Shrtr itself;
  • anything designed to defeat the rate limits or abuse gates (per-IP, per-destination, DNS blocklist), or to automate account or bot abuse.

We may disable links or suspend accounts that breach this section, and we cooperate with lawful requests valid in our jurisdiction. The Telegram and Viber bots are subject to the same rules.

6. Availability

Shrtr is provided on a best-effort basis with no contractual uptime SLA. Links may be disabled or removed at our discretion — most often in response to an abuse report or when a destination starts resolving to something harmful. A disabled link returns a "link unavailable" page (HTTP 410 Gone), not a redirect.

7. Intellectual property

Shrtr's software, branding, and copy are owned by the Provider or its licensors; these terms transfer no ownership to you. You retain ownership of what you submit (destinations, aliases, tags, uploaded QR logos) and grant us a non-exclusive licence to process it solely to deliver the service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Shrtr is provided "as is", without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
  • The Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or a missed redirect or click — arising from your use of or inability to use Shrtr.
  • The Provider's total aggregate liability for any claim under or in connection with these terms is capped at the total fees you paid to Shrtr in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 50 — whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

9. Your responsibilities

You agree to defend and indemnify the Provider against third-party claims arising from (a) your breach of these terms, (b) your unlawful or unauthorised use of Shrtr, or (c) your infringement of any third party's rights through your use of Shrtr.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings: we disable and pseudonymise your links (so any personal data in a destination URL is scrubbed) and hard-delete your account row, and any active subscription is cancelled and not pro-rated or refunded. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms or where we are required to do so by law, keeping only records we must retain (billing, security logs).

11. Security disclosure

If you discover a security issue, email support@shrtr.top with details before public disclosure. We will acknowledge, work in good faith on a fix, and credit researchers who follow coordinated disclosure.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the service evolves — to reflect new features, regulatory change, or pricing. Material changes affecting account holders are emailed to the address on file before they take effect; continued use of Shrtr after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation will be referred to the competent courts of the Provider's place of residence. EU consumers retain the mandatory protections of their country of residence, including the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
