By creating a link, you agree it's not used for spam, malware, or phishing.

Why Shrtr

Zero tracking

No third-party analytics, no cookies beyond the theme preference. IPs are hashed before storage.

QR codes included

Every short link ships with a PNG and SVG QR code, ready to print or embed anywhere.

Simple stats

A public stats page shows click count and last-click time — without exposing visitor data.

How it works

Paste your long URL

Drop any HTTP or HTTPS link into the form above. Optionally pick a custom alias (5–16 letters, digits, and hyphens) instead of a random short code.

Get a short link and QR code

Shrtr returns the new short URL and a paired QR code (PNG and SVG). Both are ready immediately — no email confirmation, no waiting page.

Share it anywhere

Send the short link in chats, embed the QR on print, or paste it into a deck. The public stats page shows total clicks and last-click time without exposing any visitor data.

Frequently asked questions

Is Shrtr really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no paywall, no ad, and no tracking script. The shortener is rate-limited to prevent abuse, and every short link you create is permanent for unique destinations.

Do I need an account?

No. Paste a URL, get a short link. We never ask for your email or any personal information.

Can I pick a custom alias?

Yes. Alongside the long URL, enter an optional custom alias (5 to 16 characters, letters, digits, and hyphens). Leave blank for a random 7-character code.

What does signing up give me?

Signup is optional and adds: editing the destination of a link after creating it, per-link click analytics (geo, device, referrer), a centralised dashboard for every link you create while signed in, and persistent ownership so a link is always tied to you. Anonymous shortening continues to work exactly as it does today.

Do short links expire?

Unique links stay active indefinitely. Anonymous duplicate copies of the same URL (5+ without traffic) may be removed after 7 days as an abuse signal. Links with at least one click, custom aliases, and links from registered users are kept forever.

Does Shrtr track users?

No third-party tracking. We record only the aggregate click count and the timestamp of the last click, used to display basic stats. We hash IP addresses before storing them.

Can I shorten URLs from Telegram or Viber?

Yes. Shrtr runs Telegram and Viber bots backed by the same shortener. Paste a URL into chat to get a short link and a QR code back, and use /mylinks, /stats and /delete to manage your links without leaving the conversation.
